Glazes can be made ahead of time and kept in the fridge covered or frozen. You can purchase a small squeezable container at most dollar stores which makes decorating the buns easy.

After the buns have cooked and are turned out onto a plate, you can also decorate them with half cherries, raisins or pecan pieces.
